ST. PAUL –  The Vote Yes for an $11 billion dollar tax increase campaign announced their media plan today.  As the Pro sales tax increase campaign has recently stated, they will spend about $5 million dollars trying to convince Minnesota families that they should spend over $60 a year on outdoor and arts entertainment through a statewide sales tax increase.

“It really is unfortunate that this group is trying to tell hardworking Minnesota families that now is a good time to increase what they are paying on most of their purchases,” said Phil Krinkie, President of the Taxpayers League of Minnesota.  “The cost of gas and groceries has made Minnesota families more cautious about what they are spending and now this pro-tax increase group wants to increase Minnesotans cost of living by raising the sales tax.”

“With millionaire special interests wanting working families to pay for their hobbies, it really makes you wonder what some philanthropist’s priorities are,” said Krinkie.  “Hopefully Minnesotans will send a clear message on Election Day to the tax and spend crowd!”
