1. Dayton's Plan: Take from Those Who Work Hard; Give to Those Who Don't

Dayton represents a party that has come to believe that it has the moral responsibility to take from those who work hard and produce in order to make life more equitable for those who don't.Dayton’s candid disclosure of his plans to tax success and expand government to support failure concede the left’s goal of implementing socialism whole scale, from each according to ability, to each according to want.

2. Can Tom Horner Defy History?

Tom Horner has modeled himself a centrist.  It’s more accurate to say that he’s confused.  The Horner campaign is not likely to garner the support that Tim Penny got in 2002, and while the Star Tribune editorial staff is in his corner along with Arnie “I endorse Obama” Carlson, he lacks a political base and an elected future.

3. Taxing the Rich to Get Elected

A state Department of Revenue analysis of DFLer Mark Dayton’s so-called "Tax the Rich" proposal to add tax brackets for high-income earners showed the plan would raise about half of the $3.8 billion Dayton has been claiming it would bring in.  Katharine Tinucci, a Dayton spokesperson, said the analysis showed "that more work is needed to identify additional sources of revenues".  Are you ready to be identified?

Check it out here.

4."We will live within our means'' – Emmer’s Budget Plan

Tom Emmer will hold the line on the state budget freezing spending and cutting many government agency budgets.  Standing alone as the single sane fiscal policy voice in the gubernatorial field this fall, Emmer is the loan candidate calling for cuts to business taxes to provide the salt under the nose our lagging economy needs.

Read more about it here and read the details of where Emmer makes cuts here.

5. The Proposed $640 Million Video Gambling Tax

Profit Minnesota, a group comprised of bar owners, is pushing for government owned video lottery machines, to effectively raise $640 million dollars in taxes from Minnesota’s beleaguered citizenry.  A number of gambling proposals to aid in building a new stadium for the Vikings and to pay down the deficit are promising to make a play up on the hill this year.

6. Why the Tea Party Is Winning Big – “It’s the Economy Stupid”

The Tea Party has scored some big primary wins this season.  Populist politics on the right is back with a vengeance.  The Republican establishment has seen their candidates defeated in Delaware, Alaska, Kentucky, and Colorado by Tea Party candidates. Galvanized by the strain and failure of Obama/Reid/Pelosi “stimulus” money, their ranks have swelled along with there passion to change the course of American politics.

7. The Evidence Is In – Cutting Government Spending Is the Key to Economic Recovery

Stimulus spending has failed to spurn economic recovery.  They don’t substantively stimulate GDP growth and they tell businesses and investors that higher tax bills are on the way.  “The evidence from the last 40 years suggests that spending increases meant to stimulate the economy and tax increases meant to reduce deficits are unlikely to achieve their goals. The opposite combination might.”

Now take a look at the rest of the story here.
