1. Election Day is Here – Vote Tuesday, November 4th!

We’ve compiled some good information to help guide you and other taxpayers in voting November 4th.  Please forward this on to friends and family, and don’t forget to vote!

·        Constitutional Amendment: 10 Reasons to Vote No.  Pass along our TV ad, which exposes the truth behind the “clean water” ads.

·        State House races: 2008 Legislative Scorecard on taxes and spending issues.

·        Presidential, Senatorial, and Congressional races: Taxpayer-related information you need to know from the National Taxpayers Union.

 ·        Judicial races:  Biographies and survey responses from Minnesota Lawyer.

·        Local Tax Increases (aka school referenda):  How much your School District already spends from the Coalition of Minnesota Businesses.

2. The Vote Yes Campaign – Brought to you by Special Interests

Your wallet won’t be thrilled to hear that the Vote Yes campaign has raised and spent over $3.5 million in attempts to raise your taxes.  What’s scarier than that is where the money came from.  Thousands of dollars are coming from art benefactors like the Guthrie, Ordway, and the Walker Art Center.  While the Vote Yes campaign is collecting hundreds of thousands from art benefactors, they rarely mention that nearly 20% of the sales tax increase revenue will go to the arts, entertainment, and cultural heritage.  These arts organizations are big supporters because they will receive $2 billion of the $11 billion sales tax increase, yet all Vote Yes broadcasts is scare tactics about our drinking water
